Winkle BC floodlights to shine for evening bowls
Winkle BC plays away at Parkhill, starting at 1.30pm.

WINKLESPRUIT Bowling Club is currently installing floodlight for evening bowls.
The committee thanks Greg Dickason and Eddie Bingham for their work done so far.
In the women’s senior singles, Charlotte Kohl defeated Gladys Yelland, and Maureen Freeman defeated Elmarie Young in a very close game that ended 21-20.
In the men’s senior singles, Aubrey Toy defeated Allan Duncan, and Des Robarts defeated Freddy Hetterscheidt. The women’s championship singles (round three) saw Elmarie Young defeat Charlotte Kohl.
In round one of the men’s championship singles, Bill Rawlinson defeated Martin Young. Round one of the mixed nominated pairs saw Elaine Critchlow and Brian Bodley defeat Sonny Brunsdon and Maureen Freeman.
In the first round of the women’s nominated 2-4-2, Elaine Critchlow and Maureen Griffin defeated Annalie Pienaar and Trish Farmer.
Members involved in competitions are reminded to check the notice board for fixtures and to arrange their games.
Last Thursday, the men’s 2-4-2 was cancelled due to rain.
Congratulations to John Powell on winning the March petrol draw, and to Steve Voster on winning last Friday’s attendance draw prize.
On Saturday the men’s league team played a home game against Westville CC. Winkle BC won one but lost the other. However they won the bonus point, so are still doing very well in the league. Well done everyone. Next Saturday, 5 April Winkle BC plays away at Parkhill, starting at 1.30pm.
On Thursday, 3 April is the women’s trips starting at 9am.
On Wednesday, 9 April is the women’s twinkle trips starting at 9am. Call Hazel Willis on 083-885-0288 if your team cannot attend.
On Thursday, 10 April it is the men’s trips starting at 9am. Call Mike Joyce on 083-226-3561 if your team cannot attend.
Note that social games will revert back to winter times from Wednesday, 9 April. Tabs in at 1.45pm and play starts at 2pm on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
Committee members are reminded of the next meeting, which will be held on Tuesday, 8 April at 3.30pm.
To members who are ill, the club hopes you will soon be back playing bowls.
