Bonus point consolation for Winkle BC men’s league team

ON Saturday, 31 May Winklespruit Bowling Club men’s league team played a home game against Morningside.

They won one game 41-18, but lost the other.

However, they won the bonus point. On Saturday, 7 June they will play away against Hillcrest. The starting time is 1.30pm.

The results for the women’s inter-club league team on Saturday, 31 May were, round one against Westville CC, won one and lost one. In round two against Umhlanga Bowling Club, won one and lost one. On Saturday morning, 7 June they will play round three and round four away at Mount Edgecombe versus Amanzimtoti C and Durban A.

On Sunday morning, 8 June at 9am, round five will take place at Winklespruit Bowling Club versus Mount Edgecombe. Go along and support the teams.

On Sunday, 8 June the Lincoln Steakhouse monthly 2-4-2 will be postponed to Sunday, 15 June as the women’s league team will play their final game 9am at home on Sunday, 8 June. Let Mac Apppleby know if you cannot play on Sunday, 15 June.

Committee members are reminded of the next meeting, which will be held on Tuesday, 10 June at 3.30pm.

On Thursday, 29 May in the men’s 2-4-2, the second session was won by Eddie Bingham and Martin Young, with the overall winners being Les John and Ken Baker. Les John also won the 100 board.

In this week’s club competitions, the nominated men’s pairs saw Allan Duncan and Brian Bodley beat Paul Els and Eddie Bingham. In the nominated men’s pairs 2-4-2, Paul Els and Martin Young beat Eddie Bingham and Dries Snyman. The mixed drawn pairs 2-4-2 saw Dries Snyman and Charlotte Kohl beat Eddie Bingham and Elmarie Young. The mixed nominated pairs 2-4-2 resulted in Mike and Di Kruger beating Des Robarts and Charlotte Kohl.

To members who are ill, the club wishes you a speedy recovery. Lastly, condolences are sent to family and friends on the death of John Wallace.
