Winkle BC greens close for August tourney prep
On Sunday, 27 July, the mixed Eagle Canyon Spur trips second session went to Paul Els, Jeannette Els and Brian Cox.

IT was a busy week again at Winklespruit Bowling Club with club competitions.
The men’s singles championship final was won by Mike Kruger who beat Andre Gelderblom in a closely fought game. Well done Mike.
In the women’s nominated pairs Jeannette Els and Elmarie Young beat Di Kruger and Norma Raath, and in the women’s drawn pairs 2-4-2 Elaine Critchlow and Trish Farmer beat Elmarie Young and Di Kruger.
The final of the men’s nominated pairs saw Freddy Hetterscheidt and Martin Young come from behind to beat Alan Duncan and Brian Bodley, again a very closely contested match well done. In the men’s senior singles Eddie Bingham had a run away victory over Des Robarts. In the mixed nominated pairs Paul and Jeannette Els beat Elaine Critchlow and Brian Bodley.
Last Friday in the mixed nominated pairs 2-4-2 Sonny Brunsdon and Gladys Yelland beat Paul and Jeannette Els. Then on Saturday, in the women’s nominated trips Annalie Pienaar, Trish Farmer and Norma Raath beat Susan Erasmus, Joyce Mackrory and Maureen Freeman.
On Thursday, 24 July the overall winners of the Clearwater Spur men’s 2-4-2 were Bill Rawlinson and Colin Coetzee. The second session was won by Duncan Wright and Hennie van der Poel. The 100 board was won by George Cormack.
This month’s petrol draw was won by Mike Kruger. The attendance draw was not won, number 55 (Cathy Laidlaw) was not present so it’s a rollover again.

Remember, club membership fees are now due. If you want to vote at the AGM, you had to have paid your fees.
There will be no bowls on Saturday and Sunday, 2 and 3 August as the green is being prepared for the August tournament.
