Ollies A pool league team shows no mercy to Rouge D

With four points in their pockets by the end of the first round, Moulin Rouge A sailed through the evening with only a few tiny storms. An even second and a three point win in the third round left Moulin Rouge A at a definite tie, if not a win. Moulin Rouge A team’s Mark Macfarlane, Vincent Post, Pierre Boonzaier and opponent Cameron Warner each took three of their four games. Moulin Rouge A forged ahead taking the two doubles games. Moulin Rouge A scored an effortless 13-5 victory.

Although an even first round was played by Ollies C and Reef C, Ollies C only took one point in each of the next two rounds. Ollies C’s gallant fight left a possible tie as they took the last three singles games. Reef C’s Predesh Debipersadh took a glorious full house. Wanting to leave no room for a possible tie, Ollies C allowed no more mistakes, took control of the doubles games and won with a well earned 11–7.

Silver Dollar C and Warnadoone A had two even rounds. Warnadoone forged ahead, taking all four points in the third round and three points in the last round. Joseph Jacobs took a fine full house with team mate Sheldon Birk winning three of his four games. A split in the doubles matches left Warnadoone A with a gleeful 12–6 victory.

Warnadoone D toyed with Kingsburgh Sports A as they allowed only one point in each of the first two rounds. Aggressively fighting back to an even third round and a three point win in the fourth round, the teams allowed for a possible tie. Warnadoone D’s Jody Naidoo and Vinai Buth together with opponent Danie Erasmus, each took three of their four games. A determined Warnadoone D commanded the two doubles match points and scored a hard-earned 11-7 victory.

Warnadoone B took three points in the first round and Kingsburgh Sports B reciprocated, leaving even scores at the end of the second. A further three point win in both the third and fourth rounds dashed Kingsburgh Sports B’s chances. Warnadoone’s Dennis Elle took a impressive full house, and team mate Dennis Beigh and opponent Donnie Bowen each took three of their four games. A split in the doubles’ score left Warnadoone B with an 11-7 victory.

Moulin Rouge D’s first game looked promising, but they were left in the dust as Ollies A mercilessly took the next nine games. Moulin Rouge D’s fate was sealed by the end of the third round. Moulin Rouge D managed to take the last singles game. Sagi Moodley and Rajen Naidoo each took a fearless full house and Cliffy Govender took three of his four games. Ollies A settled for one more point in the doubles and splendid 14-4 victory.

Reef B took control of the first round against Ollies C, taking three points in the first round. Even second, third and fourth rounds left Ollies C trailing. Reef’s Preshen Chanderman took a spectacular full house and team mate Trevor Cambell and opponent Levin Poonan each took three of their four games. Reef’s tenacity won the doubles matches, scoring a convincing 11-7 victory.
