Club compos gain momentum at Winklespruit

On Saturday, 18 April the Winklespruit Bowling Club league players had a very successful day.

THE internal club competitions are now gaining momentum at Winklespruit Bowling Club.

Congratulations to Gladys Yelland who won the 2015 women’s senior singles championship and Harry van Vuuren who won the movice men’s singles championship.

On Thursday, 16 April the Umkomaas mixed fours were played. A team from Winklespruit Bowling Club consisting of Jeannette and Paul Els, Brian Pasfield and Sylvia Ananiadis won the overall prize. Weekly social bowls were well supported and the evening ended off with Jonty Denysen winning the attendance draw.

On Saturday, 18 April the Winklespruit Bowling Club league players had a very successful day. Both the men and women teams had an overall winning score. Good luck with the next league games on Saturday, 25 April.

Diarise the following:

Friday, 24 April social bowls at 2.30pm.

Saturday, 25 April men and women’s league at 1.30pm. Due to the league game at home, no social bowls will be played on Saturday. The ever popular monthly car boot sale will also be on Saturday, 25 April at 8am. Call Greg Dickason on 084-923-4566.

On Sunday, 26 April it’s monthly nominated mixed trips. Check the players list on the notice board and indicate your availability. There will be a bring and braai after the game.

Tuesday, 28 April is pensioners league at Toti and Winkle BC.

Thursday, 30 April is monthly men’s nominated 2-4-2. Call Harry van Vuuren on 083-455-0939.

Birthday wishes go to everyone who celebrated their birthdays during the week. To all members who are ill, the club wishes them a speedy recovery.
