Meet at Assagay Hotel parking lot at 8am. This is a scenic hike through iSithumba Village along Umgeni River and up ‘Old Baldy’ to some great views of the valley.

The distance is about 10km but the climb to the top is strenuous, as there is an approximate 400m altitude gain, and there is one section of scrambling up the rocks. The hike is difficult but not very long. The R20 cost per person will be given to Durban Green Corridor Project. This hike is graded five, and is difficult with steep hills and rock climbing involved.
