Warner Beach surfer heads learn to surf sessions

The surf school will be open for the full duration of the Umhlanga Summer Festival.

Warner Beach surfer, Mikey Venter and Fika Ngubane are getting ready for the sizzling summer heat and the busy Umhlanga beach season in December.

The pair will have a surf school based at Umhlanga main beach which opens on Saturday, 12 December when the Lizzard Hurricane Summer Surf Event starts.

The surf school will be open for the full duration of the Umhlanga Summer Festival during the December holidays.

Gaby Izzard will be down at the beach to give all surfers a chilled refreshment after their sessions.

Mikey and Fika have both been coaching for over three years and have both passed their ISA coaching tests. They are also qualified lifesavers.

“I am really excited about helping locals and holidaymakers to learn to surf,” said Mikey. “I have been working with Quintin Jones Surf School for years and have seen how happy people get when they first stand up on a board.

We teach both children and adults – you are never too old to learn.

Also eThekweni Surfriders is sponsoring a few lessons for underprivileged children, which is a great way to give back.”
