Winkle BC re-opens after festive season

Congratulations to everyone celebrating their birthdays during the week and a speedy recovery to all those who are not well. Members' prayers and thoughts are with everyone.

THE Winklespruit Bowling Club green opened after the festive season on Wednesday, 6 January.

All were happy to be back among their bowling ‘family’.

Joyce Mackrory, Vera Broskie and Maureen Griffen were overall winners for the monthly women’s Victory Kwik Spar trips played on Thursday, 7 January. Elaine Critchlow, Norma Raath and Margaret Van Belkum were winners of the first session and winners of the second session were Pam Chalder-Royle, Jeanette Els and Sue Welch. The 100 board was won by Joan Van Rensburg. Gaynor Snyman won the spider and Pam Chalder Royle the mystery prize.

Attendance draw was won by Sandy Snyman on Friday, 8 January, but as she was not present, it will be a carry-over. There will be a Friday evening meal this Friday, 15 January, which will be wors rolls.

The Steve Evenwell 2-4-2 competition was played on Sunday, 10 January. The win was shared by the two teams of Brian Bodley and Elaine Critchlow and Mac and Joyce Mackrory. Runners-up were Mike and Di Kruger. Di Kruger and Val De Kok shared the prize for the most touches. The 100 board was won by Steve Evenwel. A braai was held after the game and was well attended.
