Winkle BC closed over Easter weekend

Congratulations to everyone celebrating their birthdays during the week and a speedy recovery to all who are not well.

IN the men’s championship singles first round at Winklespruit Bowling Club, Eddie Bingham beat Seve Evenwel and Cedric Kruger beat Bill Hobbs.

The attendance draw was won by Shirley Smith on Friday, 18 March however, as she was not present, it will be a carry-over.

The Clearwater Spur mixed 2-4-2 was played on Saturday. Overall position was taken by Brian Cox and Pipa Hanel. Second session was won by Eddie Bingham and Trish Farmer. The 100 board winner was Brian Cox.

In the club competition mixed 2-4-2, Andre Gelderblom and Norma Raath beat Brian Pasfield and Sue Welch. Members are reminded of the Winkle men’s 2-4-2 on Thursday, 31 March as well, due to there being five Thursdays in March.

Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the Friday evening meal on 18 March. Thanks to Trish for preparing the delicious meal.

Take note that the monthly car boot sale will not take place on Saturday, 26 March due to it being Easter weekend. The club will be closed from Friday, 25 March until and including Monday, 28 March due to the Easter weekend.

Members are to note that the starting time for Wednesday and Friday social bowls is 2.15pm for 2.30pm, until further notice. The Winkle women’s breakfast at Clearwater Spur on 15 April is at 8.30am for 9am. Contact Elmarie Young at 082-873-6181 to confirm attendance.
