Dick King hailed a huge success
Well done to the three athletes who took part in the KZN cross country league hosted by Hilton Harriers this past Saturday, 2 April.

THIS past weekend, Amanzimtoti Athletics Club’s Dick King half marathon and 15km walk was a huge success as it attracted 800 athletes.
The weather was perfect for running and many compliments were given at the end.
With 49 marshals on the route, the athletes all returned home safely, having used 13,000 water sachets, 360 litres of Coke, 9,000 plastic bottles and 80 cardboard boxes.
The Natal Technical College chiropractors were also there to assist athletes who had cramp and other ailments.
Big thanks to the Metro Police for taking care of the athletes’ safety and the ambulance services from Rescue Care for being on standby.
The club also thanks all its sponsors Goss and Balfe, Victory Spar, Thirsty Whale, Clear Water Spur, Fridgecare, Sapphire Coast Tourism, Amanzimtoti Hyundai, Valentinos, Avon, Mpact and Modern Athlete magazine for their kind donations.
The town was left spotless and the club thanks the athletes for this. The cleanest table went to the Nel family. Well done and many thanks to Renier family, Makro, Amanzimtoti Lions, Funland, Rho-Tech and Hyundai.
The committee thanks everyone who helped on the day and most importantly, those who worked so hard with the excellent planning and execution of this race. The chairman also thanks the committee for their commitment.
