Barbara’s ABC team second in Dan Draper

The key draw will start again at R1,000.

THE women’s 2-4-2 winners at Amanzimtoti Bowling Club were Jean Snyman and Maureen van der Poel.

Runners-up were Pam Chalder-Royle and Talla Stephens-Viviers, and the second session was won by Wilma Richter and Kathy Harding.

Winners of the Fury Ford men’s trips were Adrian Morrison, Barry Hilton and Fred Mackrory; Rob Troughton, Shawn Sutherland and Paul Davies came second; and Doug Walton, Des Sole and Guelfo Cobianchi won the second session.

Ian Crouch won the mixed scroungers, with Barry Buckland coming second, and Glen Scorgie was third. Jeff van Belkum won plate A, and Paul Davies took plate B.

Paul Davies won two of his novice singles against Gary Wise and Leon van Rensburg; Steve Liebetrau beat Andy Jones; Steve Woor defeated Leon van Rensburg; Martin Birch beat Gary Wise; and Andy Jones overcame Gary Wise.

In a close men’s handicap singles game of 23 ends, Doug Joubert beat Trevor Zulch. In the men’s nominated pairs, Ian Crouch and Ian Mills defeated Gerald Chalder-Royle and Shawn Sutherland; Les Brown and Mark Brodie beat Clive Frank and Carl van Heerden; and Greg McLeod and Doug Joubert had a good win over Glen Scorgie and Mike Pitchers.

In the men’s drawn pairs, Les Brown and Peter Shepard had a close win over Colin Coetzee and Bobby Henderson; and Lofty van Tonder and Wessie van der Westhuizen beat Glen Scorgie and Mike Pitchers by one shot.

Robyn Hutton overcame Jackie Holdrick in the women’s handicap singles. Lynn Joubert and Michelle Pitchers had a big win over Jackie Holdrick and Nicky Stirzaker in the women’s nominated pairs; and Nita Meumann and Karen Shepherd beat Elmarie Young and Gaynor Snyman.

Well done to Barbara Beamson, Heather Brown, Nita Meumann and Adrienne Robbins, with reserve Amanda Ninow, who came second in the Dan Draper tournament.

Good bowling to the pairings of Barbara Beamson and Jeanne Alexander, Lynn Joubert and Michelle Pitchers, Glen Scorgie and Ian Mills, and John Marsh and Doug Joubert in the All KZN tournament which takes place in the Kingfisher district from 16 July.

At TGIF Noreen Butler won the 100 board. Sadly Tony Cam was not in attendance when his number was drawn in the attendance draw so next week the prize is worth R650. Excitement mounted as keys were drawn for the must-win draw. Alan McGregor and Robyn Hutton won R100 each with their tagged keys. In the end, the popular winner of the big prize was Debbie Groom. The key draw will start again at R1,000.

Members were saddened at the sudden death of Trevor Dempsey. Condolences are sent to his partner Val de Kok, his children and family. Get well wishes are sent to all who have health problems, especially to Malinki van der Westhuizen who suffered a bad fall.
