Pensioner league enjoys annual braai at WBC

THE men’s pensioners league held its annual braai at Winklespruit Bowling Club on Tuesday, 19 July.
There was more than enough food for all members.

Sincere thanks is expressed to the pensioners league for using the club’s facilities, to all who helped in the kitchen, Gustav and Dries for braaiing the meat, Steve Evenwel for fetching the tables and chairs, Les John for organising the extra crockery and cutlery and to all other members who helped to make the occasion a success.The men’s senior singles competition was played between Bill Hobbs and Brian Pasfield on Wednesday, 20 July, with Bill being the victor. Brian Farmer and Dries Snyman beat Steve Evenwel and Cedric Kruger in the men’s drawn 2-4-2.
In the men’s nominated 2-4-2 Brian Pasfield and Bill Hobbs were victorious over Brian Cox and Cedric Kruger. Allan Duncan beat Bill Hobbs in the men’s senior singles semi-final. Winners of the men’s nominated pairs semi-final were Mike Kruger and Steve Evenwel with the opponents being Brian Pasfield and Dries Snyman. Lulu Bingham and Sandy Snyman were victors over Sylveigh Ananiadis and Wilma Richter in the women’s drawn 2-4-2 semi-final.
Di Kruger won the attendance draw on Friday evening.
Friday evening’s meal was prepared by Sylveigh Ananiadis and was enjoyed by all present. The club thanks Sylveigh for preparing the meal and Gert and Wilma for the pudding so generously donated.

There will be social bowls on Wednesday and Friday afternoon. Bowlers should note the winter starting time applies for Wednesday and Friday social bowls at 1.45pm for 2pm.
A meal will be available on Friday evening. Indicate on the list on the board if you will be partaking in the meal for catering purposes.
Members must take note of club competitions on the competition board and the notification of the subs for 2017 on the notice board.
Congratulations to everyone celebrating birthdays during the week and a speedy recovery to all who are not well. The club’s prayers and thoughts are with all.
