Last weekend the juniors and seniors competed in the KZN South champs at St Michaels in some serious surf. Winklespruit came third overall. Well done to Fast Track Lifesaving Club on winning the competition. Sunday was the turn of the nippers but due to the huge surf conditions only beach events were held.
Winklespruit excelled, winning many events and gaining many top three positions. The list of names of the medal winners is too long to mention but the nipper coaches were really proud of the effort put in by the competing nippers. Winklespruit came second overall, with the competition still to be completed at a later stage.
Training will continue for the upcoming SA champs to be held in Port Elizabeth and the club is extremely proud of Jenna Nel (U14B team) and Jade Erasmus (U13B team) who have been selected to compete for the KZN nipper team at the interprovincial champs also being held in PE. Well done girls.
