Mac, Joyce and Bessie are Sunday trips victors

WINKLESPRUIT Bowling Club’s overall winners of the Sunday Eagle Canyon mixed trips played on Sunday, 28 May were Mac and Joyce Mackrory and Bessie Vergottini.
Second session winners were Estelle van der Merwe, Freddy Hetterscheidt and Piet du Toit.
Lynn Fitzsimmons won the 100 board.
The Clearwater men’s 2-4-2 was played on Thursday and overall winners were Eddie Bingham and Adrian Morrison. Winners of the second session were Les John and Paul Els.
In the second leg of the men’s drawn 2-4-2 competition, Adrian Morrison and Alan Raubenheimer beat Brian Farmer and Les Gibbens. John Scott beat Cedric Kruger in the final for the men’s novice singles. The team of Brian Farmer, Mac Mackrory and Les John beat Eddie Bingham, Adrian Morrison and Cedric Kruger and the team of Alan Raubenheimer, Freddy Hetterscheidt and Les Gibbens were victors over John Scott, Tony Fitzsimmons and John Powell in the men’s nominated trips semi-finals. Lou Lou Bingham, Elmarie Young and Wilma Richter beat Annalie Pienaar, Trish Farmer and Norma Raath in the women’s nominated trips semi-final. In the first leg of the women’s novice singles Sylveigh Ananiadis beat Stephanie Delport.
The Winkle fifth division team was victorious over the Chiltern Park A team in the Port Natal men’s league fifth round. Winkle’s eighth division team lost one and won one game against the Stella Park F team. The Winkle women played against Stella Park’s women and won one game and lost one in the first round of the Port Natal women’s league.
The attendance draw on Friday evening was won by Rob Steward. Due to him not being present, it will be a carry-over.
The turn-out for the Friday evening meal on 26 May was exceptional. All present thoroughly enjoyed the delicious meal and pudding prepared by Clasina Powell. The club extends its thanks and appreciation to her. There will be a meal on Friday once again. List your name on the list on the notice board if you are attending, before Friday.
Diarise the following dates: Women’s Winkle trips will be played on Wednesday, 7 June and the men’s trips on Thursday, 8 June. The monthly boot sale will be on Saturday, 3 June.
Social bowls will be played on Wednesday and Friday afternoons, with a starting time of 2pm for 2.30pm.
The club wishes Honey Behr and Brian Pasfield a happy birthday and special birthday greetings to Dries Snyman on his 80th birthday.
Prayers and thoughts are with Barry Hilton and Gert Richter for a speedy recovery after their operations.
