Storm puts brakes on marathon train
DUE to the damage caused by the storm a fortnight ago, the trains will not transport athletes to the start of the Goss and Balfe Marathon and Half Marathon.
Amanzimtoti Athletics Club has provided the athletes with two options to get to the start:
1. Athletes can arrange their own transport to the start.
2. Buses will be provided to the athletes. Bus tickets will be available for purchase at registration for R50 per athlete. Buses will start transporting athletes from 3.30am to the start lines at the Ilfracombe and Scottburgh train stations.
Athletes have been notified via email, SMS and social media. The public is asked to be aware that the R102 from Scottburgh to Amanzimtoti will be affected on Sunday, 29 October.
