Athletics club rings bell for annual Christmas Challenge race
Bring a toy which will be donated to the Baby House in Westville and Malvern Children’s Home.
The Illovo Sugar 15km Christmas Challenge, hosted by Westville Athletics Club, takes place on Sunday, 10 December with a 6am start.
It starts and finishs at the clubhouse on the corner of Maryvale and Syringa roads in Westville.
Pre-entries close at midnight on 5 December and cost R90 per person.
Late entries can be done on Saturday, 9 December from 10am to 4pm and on the race day from 5am to 6am at a cost of R100 per person. There is free entry to runners and walkers over the age of 65 (proof of age required).
Temporary licenses cost R20 for non-registered club members.

Prize money is paid to the top three finishers in all main age categories and T-shirts will be given to the first 2,000 in the sub two hours 30 minutes cut-off time. Trophies will be awarded to the first men and women’s team, and first mini bus for the fastest team, with a minimum of 10 runners finishing within 30 seconds of each other.
The London bus trophy will be awarded to the friendliest, best dressed and original bus and there will be lots of lucky draw prizes.
Prize-giving will be at 8.45am.
