Monthly mixed trips competition at Winkle BC this Saturday

ALAN Baxter was the victor over Rob Stewart in the first session of the men’s novice singles at Winklespruit Bowling Club.
In the first session of the men’s championship singles, Eddie Bingham was victorious over Rob Troughton.
Elaine Critchlow beat Margaret van Belkum in the first session of the women’s championship singles.
Marietjie van der Berg, Tokkie de Kock and Amanda Nino were overall winners of the Warner Beach Caltex women’s twinkle trips played on Wednesday, 14 February. Second session winners were Estelle van der Merwe, Elaine Critchlow and Bessie Vergottini. Winner of the 100 board was Jeanette Els and Joyce Mackrory won the spider.
Overall winners of the Clearwater Spur mixed 2-4-2 played on Saturday were Mike and Di Kruger. Second session winners were Brian Cox and Elmarie Young.
There was a good turnout at the Wednesday and Friday afternoon social bowls. John Scott won the Friday evening attendance draw. The raffle draw for the mohair blanket which was kindly donated by Sandy Snyman, was won by Sylveigh Ananiadis. There was no winner for the wheel of fortune.
The attendance at the Friday evening meal was excellent. The club thanks Sylveigh and Basil Ananiadis for preparing and donating the delicious meal, and Sheila and John Court for preparing and donating the lovely pudding. The club appreciates their kindness and generosity. There will be a Friday meal again this week so notify Trish before Friday, or place your name on the notice board if you wish to attend. This is for catering purposes.
Diarise the following dates: The Eagle Canyon Spur mixed trips will be played this Saturday morning, 24 February at 8am for 8.30am. There will be a bring and braai after the game.
Social bowls starts at the summer starting time, which is 2.30pm for 3pm on Wednesday and Friday afternoons. Members are asked to play their club competitions as indicated on the competition board.
Sheila Court is wished a happy birthday and a blessed year ahead.
Prayers and thoughts are with Wessie van der Westhuizen who is recovering from an operation.
