Adie Fuller‘s side win FMFM 4’s at Amanzimtoti Bowling Club

Don't miss out on the club's burgers and bowls social event.

MEMBERS of the Amanzimtoti Bowling Club (ABC) enjoyed several games in last week’s good weather.

There was a good turn-out for the Fury Multi-Franchise mixed 4’s (FMFM 4’s) on Sunday and the social atmosphere carried on after the game into a very pleasant braai under the trees. The winners of the day were Adie Fuller, Steve and Dot Liebetrau and Vish Studinski.

Linden and Heather Cooper and new members Leon and Marie Kachelhoffer were runners-up, while the second session was won by Vince Phaal, Paul Davies, Hilary Lindsay and Greg Veldtman.

Despite the fact that there was only a small field for the women’s trips on Wednesday, November 17, it was a fun morning and two prizes were given out. The winners were Julie Sutherland, Marion Crouch, and Cathy Badenhorst, and the second session was won by Pamela Chalder-Royle, Susan Welch and Marilyn Thiart.

The team of Alec Stirzaker and Phil Whitton won the morning at the men’s 2-4-2 on Thursday, November 18. John Hewgill and Greg Veldtman came in second and Eric Gardner and Eddie Baker took home the second session prize.

At TGIF the key draw was won for the second week in a row – which is a first. Congratulations to the winner who found the right key and the amount will reset once again to R1 000 with 40 keys to choose from again next week.

The 100 board was won by Bobby Henderson, but as Doug Walton was not present to win the attendance draw, it will go up to R600 next time. Next week’s main events are men’s and women’s mutton 4’s on Sunday, November 28, and burgers and bowls at 17:30 on Thursday, December 2.

The only birthday greetings this week go to Dennie Denysschen, but the club sends out its best wishes to members who are not in the best of health.

Condolences to Bill Williams and family on the loss of his wife after a long illness.
