An exciting new pool league has begun developing young talent, growing the sport across the South Coast.

Five teams have already joined the league, competing in the opening rounds. Mark Gounder, of Cues on Crescent, said that each match night so far has showcased the growing pool talent within the region.

“The league has largely focused on development players, giving upcoming talent the opportunity to gain experience alongside more seasoned competitors. Experienced players such as Dwayne Mcgeer, Thershen Reddy and Ravi Naidu have played an important role in guiding and mentoring younger players through some thrilling and challenging finishes on the tables,” said Gounder.

Adding to the excitement, Cues on Crescent assembled an all-star top 10 team to take on the formidable Sans Sports Bar from Umkomaas in a home-and-away friendly series. The rivalry has proven to be evenly matched, with both teams holding one victory.

League organisers confirmed that registration for the 3 Man Pool League remains open, and new teams and players are encouraged to join. Matches are played every Wednesday evening at Cues on Crescent in Amanzimtoti.

Players or teams interested in registering can contact Mark on 072 616 6072 for more information.
