Foamy fundraising for Grade 7 dance

Taking things into their own hands, Grade 7 learners did a fundraising car wash for their end-of-year dance event, organised by parents.

AN EAGER bunch of Amanzimtoti learners put the fun in fundraising at Hutchison Park on October 3, raising money for the end-of-the-year Grade Seven dance.

The learners, with the help of their parents and the gracious support of the Amanzimtoti Rugby Club, raised money by washing cars in the parking lot at Hutchison Park.

One group of learners, armed with cardboard banners and sponges, flagged down cars travelling along Hutchison Road while the rest hosed, washed and dried cars.

Organiser of the fundraiser, Jenny Cousins, said that a total of R2100 was raised from washing cars.

“It went well, fun was had and money was raised. The Grade Seven dance, which we as parents are organising for the children, is meant to make the Grade Sevens feel special before they head off to the next big stage of their lives,” said Cousins.
