Kamalinee rallies behind Bafana Bafana

Learners donned green and gold to support the national team as it made its first appearance in a FIFA World Cup since 2010.

AS the FIFA World Cup 2026 kicked off, Kamalinee Primary School was awash with South African pride as learners and educators proudly dressed in the national colours to show their support for the national team, Bafana Bafana.

Kamalinee’s Minesha Singh said the school put together a vibrant display of unity and patriotism as classrooms and walkways were filled with the green and gold of their nation.

“The initiative highlighted the power of sport to unite people from all backgrounds and inspire values such as teamwork, dedication, discipline, and perseverance among young people. As the FIFA World Cup 2026 gets underway, the Kamalinee Primary School family wishes Bafana Bafana every success and looks forward to celebrating their achievements throughout the tournament,” said Singh.

The first match took place yesterday (June 11), with Mexico closing out the game versus Bafana Bafana 2-0, in an entertaining bout. Though disappointed, support for Bafana Bafana remains strong as the team prepares for its match against Czechia on June 18.
