Booysens successful arrests

From October 22 to 27 there was a total of 113 arrests by Booysens Police.

BOOYSENS – Over the week of October 22 to 27 there was a total of 113 arrests. These arrests include; six – assault common, 57 – drunken driving, 21 – possession of drugs and three – possession of suspect stolen goods.

Theft general

On Monday October 21 in the Chrisville area, a complainant was travelling in her vehicle on her way home. When she arrived at her home she noticed that her cellphone was missing. The complainant reported the matter to Booysens SAPS and mentioned that she suspected the person who was travelling with her. Upon further investigation it was found that her passenger did take her phone. The suspect was arrest for theft.

Possession of dagga

On October 22 at 22:40 members of the police were doing crime prevention duties in the Turffontein area when they saw two ladies walking in the road. They stopped and proceeded to introduce themselves. The female member then searched the suspect and found dagga in the suspect’s pocket. The suspect was arrested and taken to Booysens SAPS. Also on Saturday October 26 members form the K9 unit were patrolling around the FNB stadium when they noticed a group of people sitting around. They decided to search them. The members noticed a packet of dagga lying on the floor where the suspects were sitting. They asked who the owner of the packet was and one of the people in the group claimed that it was his. The person was arrested and taken to Booysens SAPS for further questioning.

Fraud

On October 26 a member of the community was at FNB stadium to watch the soccer match when he was approached by two people who sold him a ticket. The complainant noticed that the ticket was a fake and he called for assistance from SAPS that were close to him. The SAPS members gave chase and arrested two suspects. The suspects were placed under arrest and taken to Booysens SAPS for further investigation.
