New life for derelict ‘tennis courts’

This has already uplifted the look and feel of the area.

JOHANNESBURG SOUTH – The dilapidated tennis courts on Harry Road, Robertsham, will soon be revamped and converted into an action soccer arena.

City of Johannesburg Property Company has entered into a lease agreement with a private company, led by members of the community, to revamp, convert and manage the old dilapidated tennis courts.

The conversion of this property, which has been underutilized for many years, will breathe new life into the area. From February, the property has been cleaned up. As part of phase one of the process, a new modern fence has been erected, water and electricity have been connected and construction of the first indoor court is complete. This has already uplifted the look and feel of the area.

However, the only way in which this property can continue to be sustained, is through the support from the local community. Members from the community can participate at a social and competitive level once leagues commence.

The courts are open for bookings. To book your slot please contact Robertsham Action Soccer on 082 641 2000, robertshamactionsoccer@gmail.com or visit them on Facebook, Robertsham Action Soccer.
