MOFFATVIEW SAPS officers distributed pamphlets in Regents Park and Rosettenville on Friday, October 22, to educate people about carjackings which terrorise motorists in the South.
The police have these tips to share:
*Be vigilant when driving around the area
*Do not to leave the vehicle unlocked, not even for a minute
*Do not open a window widely to talk to a stranger, 5cm is enough to have a discussion; and
*When approached by a suspicious-looking person, drive off or press the hooter to attract attention.
The officers came from various departments, such as Social Crime Prevention, Communications, Patrollers and Cluster Social Crime Prevention.
