Hotel owner cleans up

“Now the guesthouse is up and running we were shocked with the surrounding area, which was quite disgusting with weeds, broken trees and vegetation totally taking over the pavements and middle-island of Prairie Street."

DR DANIEL Emamere, chief executive officer and owner of the much talked about Heavenly Boutique Guesthouse on the corner of Prairie and Valda streets, Townsview, has taken it upon himself to clean-up the surrounding area of his boutique guesthouse.

HUGE JOB: A work team is removing the weeds and rubbish on the corner of Prairie and Valda streets, Townsview.

“My wife, Rebotile and I, decided to build a guesthouse here because there wasn’t really any other accommodation in this part of the South. We did come up against challenges from residents and public figures who were intent on thinking we were building a brothel but nothing could be further from the truth.

“Now the guesthouse is up and running we were shocked with the surrounding area, which was quite disgusting with weeds, broken trees and vegetation totally taking over the pavements and middle-island of Prairie Street. We have employed a team to clean up and remove all the weeds, broken trees and the rubbish which has accumulated over many years. A dead dog was found in the dustbin on the corner of the street, which was giving off a foul smell. As well as huge amounts of rubbish; bedding, sheets, clothing and old shoes have been uncovered in the mass of weeds. Already the area around our guesthouse is beginning to look better and we are hoping it will stay this way,” said Emamere.

Contrary to what the public said about Heavenly Boutique Guesthouse, it has got its four stars from Tourism Grading Council of South Africa and is indeed a “four star” guesthouse, with 13 executive rooms beautifully decorated, all en-suite.

FOUR STARS: It takes superb accommodation to earn its four stars.

“All the certificates we required to open were granted and we believe our guesthouse offers both national and international tourists a great place to stay. We can also offer spa treatments as well as manicures and pedicures and our sundeck offers fantastic views of the Johannesburg skyline. We can absolutely compete with other hotels and guesthouses in the South, as well as the North of Johannesburg,” added Emamere.

RECEPTION: Daniel Emamere welcomes you to the Heavenly Boutique Guesthouse.

He added, “Since we opened residents have seen we are a reputable business and we are definitely here to stay.”
