Security guard gunned down

The unknown male opened fire on the driver’s side of the vehicle.

A SECURITY officer was gunned down when shots were randomly fired, south of Johannesburg on Saturday night.

On September 16, an unknown male opened fire on two security officers parked on the pavement on corner Neale and Outspan roads during a patrol.

Moffat View police said the two security officers were ambushed by the unknown male.

The man opened fire on the driver’s side of the vehicle and fatally wounded one of the security officers.

It was previously reported that eight shots were fired.

The motive for the shooting is still unknown.

A murder docket has been opened at the Moffat View Police Station and no arrests have been made.
