Moffat View successes

A suspect, with 11 ziplock bags containing drugs, was arrested by Moffat View SAPS on November 13.

OVER the period of November 8 to 13, Moffat View SAPS arrested 26 suspects for various crimes: assault common – three, assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm (GBH) – six, contravention of criminal matters – one, driving under the influence of alcohol – one, fraud – one, intimidation – three, possession of suspected stolen goods – four, shoplifting – one and theft – four.

One suspect arrested for drugs

A suspect, with 11 ziplock bags containing drugs, was arrested by Moffat View SAPS on November 13. Const Ndivhuwo Modero and the team were posted at Moffat View SAPS to do crime prevention duties at Rosettenville area. At about 9.30am they spotted a man standing between Hector and Norris streets. When the man noticed the police, he started to walk away.

The members stopped him as they were suspecting something was amiss. He then started to run away. Modero gave chase and apprehended him. They then asked to search him and found a black plastic bag in his left back pocket of his pair of jeans and that’s where the drugs were found. He was arrested and taken to Moffat View Police Station.

Moffat View SAPS operation

Together with CPF members and security companies, Moffat View SAPS on November 10 held a joint operation. The members were conducting stop and search operations at Rosettenville and Regents Park. Through the use of an MCD machine, one arrest for theft was made and 132 fake DVDs were also confiscated. In total, 65 people were searched and cars were also stopped and searched.
