Gogo Tracy lends a hand to the community

Tsikwa wishes to help young people as well.

EVERY day from 8am to 9am Tracy Tsikwa (58), conducts exercises for elderly people in the Eikenhof Jackson Informal Settlement.

Tracy runs the Miracle Day-Care Centre which is swiftly becoming one of the best care centres in the community.

Tracy shares the leftovers from the morning porridge that the children get every day, with the elderly. She started this initiative in February this year.

Now, the elderly not only get food and exercises but they are also taught social skills. About 80 elderly people participate.

PRAYER: Elders giving thanks to the Lord for the daily blessings they receive.

“I started this project because I was concerned about the health of the old people in the community of Jackson. So, one day I spoke to two grannies to come and exercise with me so that we are able to keep our health on a good level. Every day, the number of people increased and that made me feel proud of myself. I appreciate their efforts too. Above all we put our trust in Jesus Christ for this project to thrive,’’ she told the COURIER.

Tracy is appealing to community members, businesses, forums and churches to please donate anything useful to the old people. For more information, contact Tracy Tsikwa on 083 531 5611.
