MOFFAT View and Booysens SAPS, JMPD as well National Crime unit ran an integrated operation leading to the arrest of seven suspects following the hijacking that took place in The Glen Shopping on August 17.
It’s alleged that at about 9am on Friday, the suspects seized a Ram delivery vehicle which contained cellphones and TV appliances. After that, the suspects were on the run and few minutes after the hijacking, the Ram vehicle was found abandoned at Ruby Street in Rosettenville.
When SAPS arrived on the scene where the Ram Vehicle was abandoned SAPS were only able to capture one suspect with the other six still on the loose. Booysens and Moffat view SAPS went after them until they nailed them down in Turffontein. The stolen goods from the Ram vehicle were retrieved.
Captain Jeff Phora from Moffat View SAPS said, “The suspects were arrested and further investigation is still ongoing. We as the SAPS will not tolerate any kind of criminal activity in our area.”
