Antony Vagaggini (61) from Moffat View uses his beard to make ends meet

His long beard helps Antony earn money.

He loves his beard, as it gives him an opportunity to earn an extra income, especially over the festive season.

Centres and organisations often hire him to play Father Christmas and today Antony and his beard is a must-see in and around Moffat View.

“Over the festive season, I am called to various centres to play Father Christmas and that pays me very well,” he said.

Residents of Moffat View and South Hills love him and they have given him the nickname ‘Mr Beard’.

He told COURIER that when people call him Mr Beard it makes him happy.

“Having such a long beard isn’t luck, but a blessing. I hope my beard will grow longer and longer.

“My beard has also helped me during the winter to keep me warm throughout. I encourage people who wish to keep their beards and grow it to just do it and not give up,” said Vagaggini.
