The trip was sponsored by Lara Travel and The Hydro at the Stellenbosch.

There is much to describe the year 2020 and what it has meant for many, still, South Of Johannesburg Business (SOJO) chose to focus on the positive outcomes and the 2020 golf day was certainly one of those occasions.

Weather challenges set aside, this year’s charity golf day and Hawaiian year-end dinner party resulted in positive feedback, yet again.

“Against unprecedented times, we are delighted to have been able to host such an amazing event for a very good cause and raise funds for Fountain of Inspiration. Without you, this day would not have been possible. We thank you wholeheartedly,” said Nicky Vakaloudis, CEO of SOJO.

“Despite the weather and the necessary siren to stop the game early, all of you looked super spruce in your lavender golf shirts, proudly sponsored by Gold Reef City. It must be noted that all our business partners went the extra mile to ensure that the winning teams were treated to some awesome prizes which totaled a value of R71 210,” she said.

The talented and flamboyant Simply For lit the room with songs from all eras, and had guests on the dance floor with the ever-popular Jerusalema.

The total amount will be announced once profits have been calculated, however, SOJO is proud to be able to make a significant impact in the lives of those in need of hospital beds, wheelchairs, walkers, and other medical equipment.

Winning ways

The highlight of the evening was when the winner of the grand prize was announced. The Hydro at Stellenbosch and Lara Travel Pty Ltd based at Mall of the South sponsored a package prize which consists of a two night getaway at The Hydro at Stellenbosch with meals, facilities, and return air flights included.

The sale of the raffle tickets brought in a whopping R35 000 and the lucky draw went to Gold Reef City who are handing the prize over to one of their VIP guests.

Heena Ramjee walked away with this wonderful prize and said she has never won something like this.

“I am looking forward to is having a relaxing time in Stellenbosch,” she said.

Fountain of Inspiration, an NPO that supplies free medical equipment for home-based care, will be receiving a contribution from this event.
