Councillor helps pregnant mothers with basics

These basics help pregnant mothers to have necessities during their pregnancy.

Ward 57 Clr Faeeza Chame welcomed the donations of baby clothing that were given to pregnant mothers at the South Hills Clinic.

She said you often find that some of the mothers are about to give birth and don’t have anything for the baby.

“The starter pack is a nice way to give mother and baby a start to a quality upbringing. At the same time, expectant mothers get education about contraception.

“Covid-19 has left many households without any income. To nurture and educate children is getting more costly. The South Hills Clinic has social workers and qualified staff whose doors are open for anyone who needs information on childcare and prevention. I thank my sponsors and everyone who made this event possible,” she said.

The expectant mothers who received the starter packs were Itumeleng Mokoena, Ethal Sithole, Nontobeko Buthelezi, Zanele Radebe, Prisca Thom, Gloloisa Mjali, Mercy Chumba, Ndlovu Zanele, Ilda Macamo and Basically Ayanda. While the nurses who helped were Means Miwell, Antoinette van der Westhuizen and Nomvula Lubisi.
