Queenshaven Retirement Village invites you

The Sale of Work promises something for everyone. Whether you’re an art enthusiast, a parent shopping for baby wear, a bookworm, a fashionista, a lover of sweet treats, a craft enthusiast, or simply someone searching for a delicious meal, their stalls have you covered.

The days are getting longer, and there’s a distinct summer vibe in the air – a sure sign the year is drawing to a close. And with that, Queenshaven Retirement Village has an exciting event on the horizon that will brighten your day even more.

They are thrilled to announce their much-anticipated annual Sale of Work, which will take place on November 25 from 09:00 to 12:00.

Dianne Verwey of Queenshaven Retirement Village said, “The Sale of Work has become the highlight of their annual calendar, and they are eagerly counting down the days until they can share this special occasion with all the cherished residents and their families. It will be a day filled with camaraderie, fun, and the opportunity to support the community.”

Verwey thanks those who have already committed to lending a hand on the day.

“We will reach out to you via WhatsApp with more information and details to ensure everything runs smoothly. Your support and dedication are invaluable, and we are grateful for your willingness to help.

“For those who are still undecided, we invite you to consider joining us as a volunteer at one of their vibrant stalls. Beyond contributing to the event’s success, this is an opportunity to make new friends, share laughter, and create wonderful memories. Many friendships were formed and countless stories shared during this special day in the past,” said Verwey.

“You can explore an array of offerings, from arts and crafts to baby wear, books, clothing, cakes, haberdashery items, pancakes, boerewors rolls, and a delightful tea garden. There’s no shortage of delights to discover,” said Verwey.

Verwey said that while their tables are already filling with a treasure trove of items, they would appreciate any contributions of freshly baked goods, preserves, jams, and sweets.

“These delectable treats will make our event even sweeter and more memorable. Our popular plant stall also needs additional plants and seedlings to enhance its appeal. Your green thumbs and generous donations can make a significant difference.

“For those items received with love but left unused, this event provides the perfect opportunity to re-gift them. We encourage you to let us know as soon as possible if you are available to help on the day, with a deadline for confirmation set for no later than November 8.

“Donations of non-perishable goods are due by November 15. Additionally, items for the cake stall should be delivered on November 24 between 08:00 and 15:00, along with plant donations.”
