“Fear has no mercy, once you let it have its way with you, it will drag you kicking and screaming to your early grave.” – Veli Ndaba
When last did you pause and reflect on your life. So many people are lost in the busyness of life; always busy without producing meaningful results. I truly believe in being effective and then efficient. Most people though, seem to get lost in the busyness of the world.
As you celebrate your life, appreciate God’s grace and mercy over your life because it’s not just due to your intelligence that you made it so far – also take the time to reflect back so as to pick up areas of improvement in your life.
What do you wish you had known fifteen, ten, five years ago that could have made your life much, much better than what it is right now? Ask yourself this question in silence, by being alone and switch off everything around you.
What do you think your life could have been, had you known about the importance of: time, money, love, relationships, education, family, spirituality, commitment, humility, purpose, planning and forgiveness etc.
Have a pen and paper with you and write down what comes to mind under each heading above – and you’ll notice a mental shift happening in you. Don’t spend too much time regretting – instead take the challenge and double or triple your efforts. This is a humbling experience indeed, I do it quite often and it helps me to continuously improve my life. Let this be one of your daily mantras or slogans if you will: “The rest of my life will be the best of my life.” Always remember that you are God’s special assignment; you were carefully chosen to be here – shine brighter!
