Can you see your future?

Sight is very limiting because it only lets you to see what is in front of you.

“The only thing worse than being blind is having sight but no vision.” – Helen Keller

Helen Keller was born a fine and healthy child. At the age of 18 months she became blind and deaf but flatly refused to be classified as ‘not good enough’. She said, “Although life is full of suffering, it is also full of the overcoming of it.” So, many doors were closed in her face, but this didn’t make her give up on her dreams. She also said, “When one door of happiness closes, another opens, but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one which has been opened for us.” She became a prominent figure in her lifetime, whose accomplishments attracted awe, respect, admiration and inspiration.

This is one of the many stories that inspires me to go after my dreams every day and also reminds me to be driven by vision rather than by sight. Sight is very limiting because it only lets you to see what is in front of you, whereas vision lets you to see ten years and more into the ideal future. Most people suffer from a lack of vision although their sight is very clear. This, I must say, is more serious than being blind. A lack of vision makes you focus on problems and things that you cannot change instead of the ones you can. “For we live by faith, not by sight” is a quote from 2 Corinthians 5:7. A strong vision gives you faith, determination, conviction, focus and resilience.

My friend, your time is running out…tick tock, tick tock. You are the one this world has long been waiting for. Chase your dreams and you will find eternal peace in them.
