Commending a good response

We think that their efforts were commendable and wish to extend our heartfelt s to the SAPS for acting so promptly and making us feel safe.

Civilians are so quick to judge the South African Police Services when they are aggrieved or displeased with the outcome of their complaints.

How often though have people taken the opportunity to say thank you to our officers who really risk their own lives and respond to emergencies when it is cold and dark?

On the evening of April 23 we had an incident of an attempted break-in at our car dealership showroom in Booysens. Our internal security alerted us of robbers trying to gain entry into the showroom. We immediately called the Booysens Police Station and alerted the flying squad of the incident. They immediately dispatched over 15 armed policemen to the site of the crime.

We live just 10 minutes away from the dealership and as we approached the scene, we found that the police were already there, armed and ready to assist us. They were so prompt to respond to our call and for this we are truly grateful.

Even long after the thieves had got away, they remained with us until we locked up the premises and offered us further advice on security issues. They even went the extra mile on noting the Booysens Sector numbers and handed it to us to ensure that in case of a future incident that we are adequately equipped with the correct telephones numbers for assistance.

We think that their efforts were commendable and wish to extend our heartfelt s to the SAPS for acting so promptly and making us feel safe.

We wish to mention special praise to the following officers of the law: Booysens SAPS – Captain Nicwashy, Constable Gafane, Sergeant Mandla and Constable Netshivhandani. Flying Squad – Warrant Officer Botes and Constable Maake.
