Lions face tough test

JOHANNESBURG – Lions will have to stand the test of time when they face Western Province in their Currie Cup fixture over the weekend.
MTN Golden Lions will play DHL Western Province on Saturday October 5 at Newlands.
Kick-off 14:00
“This is one of our toughest games of the season, facing WP on their home ground in front of their own crowd. We must pull off a win away for our own sake and to get the team in contesnsion for a home semifinal,” said MTN Golden Lions head coach Johan Ackermann.
Ackermann has made several changes to his starting line-up, with the majority of the changes taking place in the backline.
In the forwards, Willie Britz has been promoted off the bench.
In the backline, Michael Bondesio has recovered from injury and will start at scrumhalf. At flyhalf, Marnitz Boshoff will take the place of the injured Elton Jantjies. Lionel Cronje and Lionel Mapoe will pair up in the midfield at 12 and 13 respectively. Chrysander Botha also returns from injury and will start at wing, with Andries Coetzee shifting to fullback.
Meanwhile, Hugo Kloppers and Kobus de Kock are both new additions on the wood.
