SASOL on board with SAFA

SASOL first corporate partner of SAFA

SASOL will be the first corporate sponsor for SAFA.

SASOL has announced that they will be walking a three year road with South African Football Association.
The sponsorship of R3 million will allow SAFA to continue with their plan to build up not only the senior level teams but to start from the grassroots and built soccer in South Africa and Africa to a formidable force.

“We are excited about this project and it is an excellent example of how we can deliver through partnerships. Sasol’s approach to sustainable development depends on building strong and mutually beneficial relationships and we are proud to be working with the Football Association and contributing to the master plan,” said Maurice Radebe, Sasol Group Executive at the Press Conference on Wednesday October 9.

“I have no tolerance for failure and will continue to drive SAFA to a better organisation,”said Dr Danny Jordaan, the newly elected President of SAFA. “By obtaining this sponsorship it will allow us to start from grassroots and work ourselves up towards the FIFA World Cup in 2022.”
He had a no tolerance approach and also said that he will do everything in his power to make sure that Bafana Bafana can compete on the highest level in future and not just make the first round of the FIFA World Cup.

“When we were preparing to take office, we identified development as the key priority of the SAFA administration. This sponsorship will inspire confidence in our Vision 2022 in the business sector, and will provide us with an important starting point for the implementation of our plan,”saidJordaan. “Thank you SASOL for your support.”
“We are delighted that SASOL has become the first corporate partner in our bold vision to change football from the ground up. Vision 2022 is going to need multiple partners for success, and we hope that SASOL’s confidence in our Vision will inspire others to join”, said Dr Robin Petersen, CEO of the SAFA Development Agency.
