Setting the record straight

"We are tired of these faceless and nameless people who want to politicise the difficult conditions of our old age homes. "

We note the response to community member Miss NP Mankomo by the so-called Moffatview tenant.

We are tired of these faceless and nameless people who want to politicise the difficult conditions of our old age homes. It is interesting that the so-called Moffaview Old Age Home tenant sees the fast deteriorating conditions of our ward as achievements of the current councillor.

We are dealing with many cases that affect our community in Ward 57 and, when we ask if the councillor is informed, many of the community members don’t want to hear from her, because her excuses are that she does not really know anything, because she is still new in the position of councillor.

The fact of the matter is that if the writer has so much knowledge about the so-called ”councillor’s achievements”, he would share the ward councillor’s plans, as requested by Miss Mankomo, with us.

Ever since the beginning of this year, the councillor has failed to convene community meetings, as required by law.

She needs to know that people’s patience is fast running out, and she will be booted if she cannot account for anything. The story of her being in office for only a few months can no longer hold water.

As the ANC we will not be intimidated by people who can’t even be bold enough to make their names known, so that the community knows them.

We will go ahead with our plans to better the conditions of our community.

Comrade Bev owes nobody any explanation, as it is her democratic right of association to join any political party.
