Technical glitches disrupt eThekwini’s meter-reading app
Residents are urged to remain patient and continue checking the app periodically while the matter is being resolved.
THE eThekwini Municipality’s mobile meter-reading app is currently experiencing technical glitches, affecting meter reading functionality.
The municipality is appealing to the public to be patient while technicians work to fix the problem on the eThekwini Mobile App.
“The City’s technical teams have identified the problem and are working diligently to restore full service as quickly as possible,” read the statement from the municipality.

To restore access to the meter reading feature, users on Android, Huawei and iPhone devices are advised to:
- Uninstall the current version of the mobile application
- Download and install the latest version of the application
- Sign in using their existing eServices login credentials.
Residents are urged to remain patient and continue checking the app periodically while the matter is being resolved.
Should customers continue to experience difficulties after reinstalling the application, they are encouraged to contact the Customer Service Hotline on 0800 331 011 or visit their nearest Sizakala Customer Service Centre for assistance.
