Speedsters should be fined

Speed bump placement on Lighthouse Road and would like to say, it is one of the most ill-considered things they can do.

EDITOR – I read the article on the speed bump placement on Lighthouse Road and would like to say, it is one of the most ill-considered things they can do. There are so many speed bumps all over already and all it will do is cause havoc in peak hour times.

Why not just put speed bumps thoughout the entire Bluff and also on Tara Road while they are at it?

Point is that we want them (speedsters) to pay. On other roads people get fined and it hits them where it hurts most – their pockets. Believe me after two or three speeding fines, they are going to slow down. They just go over the speed bumps and start speeding up again or they hit it at high speed and loose control and possibly hit into residents’ houses and innocent bystanders. Why punish all and make us suffer with traffic and mess up our vehicles because of a couple of idiots.

Speeding cameras have worked before and will again. Set the timer for 60km per hour and like I mentioned, after two fines they are going to learn its expensive and put and end to it. Fair enough, speed bumps in front of schools and so on is 100% correct but on Lighthouse Road it is just absurd. A simple speed camera placed there and on Tara Road will do wonders. It actually brings in money, which can be used for our infrastructure as oppose to sweet nothing.

I hope this email will get posted, as alot of people have the same opinion. I’m not sure if it’s your department but if it can be forwarded to the necessary people I would gladly appreciate it.
