Landslide in Chipstead Ave
RESIDENTS of Chipstead Avenue on the Bluff woke up on Monday, 3 February to a gaping landslide that destabilised the width of the road after it collapsed overnight.

The cause of the collapse is not yet known, but residents believe the rain might have played a part. Eyewitnesses said a smaller hole around the corner, which may have formed from a water leak, could also be involved.
Earlier in the day, a small piece of the road formed a bridge over the collapsed land, but it later gave way, along with the path on either side. A property wall has also shifted, but remains standing, as at the time of going to press.
