Mandrax, rock cocaine, dagga seized by Wentworth police
Wentworth police crack down on drugs.
WENTWORTH police arrested two men and seized 53 mandrax tablets, 22 packets of dagga and 13 pieces of rock cocaine in operations last week.
While on patrol in Himalayas and Duranta roads, Constables Brandin Naidoo, Roshan Singh and Georgia Sullaphen of Wentworth SAP crime prevention searched a man getting out of a vehicle belonging to a known drug dealer.

They found 49 tablets suspected to be mandrax in the 23-year-old’s possession and he was charged with possession of mandrax.
In another operation, Wentworth SAP crime intelligence and Umlazi K9 members followed up on information given to them and went to look at the goings-on at a flat in Dinapur Road in Merebank.
Warrant Officer Sookdhaw and Sergeants Wilkens and Nair searched a man outside the flat and found 22 telephone-paper wrapped parcels filled with dagga, 13 pieces of rock cocaine and four brown mandrax-cocaine tablets.

Both arrested men were denied bail when they appeared in Wentworth court and have been detained pending further investigations.

Wentworth SAP communications officer, Lieutenant Gumede said: “The police in Wentworth will continue to fight the scourge of drugs in the area and charge the people dealing in drugs.”
