Animal welfare team’s dog food supplies run dry
Helping Paws needs help from the community.

THE Bluff’s Helping Paws calls for the community’s assistance to continue providing animals in need with food and veterinary care.
Since the organisation started in September 2011, they have sterilised more than 200 animals and reduced infectious diseases greatly.
“Every Saturday morning we dispense a minimum of 150kg of dog food, veterinary care, tick and flea medication and generally work to treat dogs in KwaMakhutha, brought to us by children. We also show them, by example, how to treat their dogs. With help from a Bluff vet we transport about four animals every Saturday to get sterilised or treated for sickness or injuries,” said founder, Louise Bennet.
“Our food supplies are now severely depleted and in order for us to continue with this project, we need help as we rely solely on donations.” Community members can assist Helping Paws by donating dog food at the Wakefields expo at the Bluff Towers from Tuesday to Thursday, 29 to 31 July.
