New leader at helm of Durban Port
Moshe Motlohi is the new man in charge at the Durban Harbour.
ON Wednesday, 1 October the Transnet National Ports Authority (TNPA) named Moshe Motlohi as the new man at the helm of the Durban Port.
Motlohi replaced Thami Ntshingila, who served as port manager for the TNPA for 14 years in Durban, East London and Richards Bay. Ntshingila has committed himself to instructing the next generation of young executives on port operations as he steps back from leading the port operations.
TNPA chief executive officer, Tau Morwe was excited to make the announcement of the appointment. “Motlohi is an ex-teacher, who holds a management advanced programme from Wits Business School and an executive MBA from Graduate School of Business, University of Cape Town,” said Morwe
He started his maritime career in 2003 as the South African Ports Operations chief operations manager in Port Elizabeth. Since then he has moved through varied positions, taking more and more responsibility, including leading the Vulindlela Project at DCT in 2007.
He eventually headed the people transformation and development unit for Transnet Port Terminals and in 2012 he was promoted to the head of strategy.
“I have complete confidence that as Moshe joins TNPA, he is the right man to continue leading the Port of Durban to new heights,” said Morwe.
