POLICE seized dagga hidden in classrooms while conducting drug searches at Clairwood Secondary School on Thursday, 12 February.
Police want to ensure that schools remain safe with no weapons and firearms. “By doing these searches we’re showing the pupils we are aware of drugs. We want to ensure schools remain crime-free,” said Capt Priscilla Ellappen.
While conducting searches at the school police seized dagga hidden in classrooms, alcohol, cigarettes and knives. “Anything other items we find such as pornographic material or gambling equipment is confiscated,” she said.
Clairwood Secondary School principal Mr Naidoo welcomed the police presence at the school. “Montclair SAP are always prompt in attending to problems at the school. I’d like to thank them for their service,” said Naidoo.
