Eco-friendly Greenpeace ship to dock in Durban
The Rainbow Warrior is returning to Durban this weekend and is open for public tours.

THE world-renowned Greenpeace Rainbow Warrior is headed to Durban this weekend as part of its South African tour to highlight solutions to SA’s electricity emergency.
“Welcoming the Rainbow Warrior in South Africa at a time when the country is threatened by stage three load shedding is really important for Greenpeace Africa. The country is in crisis, and it is clear that the solution to load shedding is not more investments in coal and nuclear, but lies in removing the barriers to renewable energy. The ship will be used to highlight how renewable energy puts power back into people’s hands, and is already delivering on time and on budget,” said Greenpeace Africa executive director, Michael O’Brien Onyeka.
The ship, which has already made stops in Cape Town and Port Elizabeth will be open to the public for free tours from 10am to 3pm on Saturday and Sunday, 28 February and 1 March at N-Shed in the Durban Harbour.
