MONTCLAIR SAPS urges the public to be cautious, vigilant and alert during winter as crime tends to increase.
The public must report any suspicious persons or vehicles to police.
Police urge residents to write down descriptions of people lingering in the streets. “The public must be on the look out for a silver Mercedes C-class, which is being used to commit housebreakings and other crimes in the Montclair patrol area,” said communications officer, W/O Poobalan Marimuthu. Residents must ensure their house numbers are clearly displayed to enable police and emergency vehicles to locate their premises speedily in cases of emergency.
“There has been an increase in items stolen out of vehicles recently in the Montclair area where tyres and rims are stolen in residential areas. The public are urged to safeguard their property,” said W/O Marimuthu.
