Homeless should pay R1 for a meal
I say this because I often see these unfortunate homeless people smoking.

EDITOR – I know many churches and charitable institutions provide a daily meal for the many homeless and unemployed members of the community in the Southlands area.
The food that is given to these people is mostly supplied by members of that particular church or organisation.
Would it be asking too much for the people receiving the meal to pay just R1 for the meal? That would mean if the particular organisation is feeding say 40 people it would then have R40 to buy food for the next meal and not have to rely on members of the community to supply the food, and surely it would make the person receiving the food feel good, knowing that they had paid for the meal?
I say this because I often see these unfortunate homeless people smoking.
