The organisation worked alongside CareerBox, a non-profit organisation that identifies and trains candidates from disadvantaged communities to place them in entry-level jobs. The ESYB helped around 100 unemployed youth identify possible places of employment.

Siyanda Dlamini, vice chairperson of the ESYB, said they aimed to connect suitable young people with job opportunities in the customer service or call centre line of work.

“The emphasis is on results-driven empowerment, skills development, and job creation for local youth,” said Dlamini.

He added that the programme helped not only find possible employment opportunities for young people but also help them relook at their CVs and how to improve it.

The ESYB extended their thanks to CareerBox for making the day as successful as it was as well as to the community who responded to the call.
